TCC hosted VBS July 21-25. I must admit this was the best VBS I’ve experienced in my time at TCC. I feel there were different elements this year that set it apart from past VBS weeks. One element that made VBS 2019 a success was the donations provided by you, the TCC Family. Those donations helped save us close to $200 that we were able to shift into other necessary areas of VBS. It was also enjoyable to see the items you all selected and donated. Thank you for helping VBS succeed!
The support of VBS definitely did not stop there! Over 50 different individuals put their lives into play and stepped up to volunteer. A very talented crew showed up the week before help decorate, prep supplies and create a fun and exciting environment for the kids. Even more volunteers were involved the week of VBS, stepping into and thriving in a wide range of ministries. There were people ministering to kids through leading crafts, providing snacks, playing games, caring for babies, teaching Bible stories, sharing about missions, and being group guides. Others had a ministry of preparing meals and desserts for volunteers, setting up the necessary areas each night, securing our building and the many people inside, welcoming, greeting, and checking in each child, leading worship, running sound, capturing moments in photos and video, counting offering money, and getting pied in the face. We had a team praying over every child, volunteer, and evening of VBS.
As you can see, there are many different roles needed to pull off a week of VBS. TCC Family, you went far beyond just “pulling off” a week of VBS. VBS was successful and the best one yet, because our TCC Family chose not merely to survive but thrive in ministry roles. We ministered to seventy children each night, teaching and encouraging them to “Raise Their Game” by inviting God into their lives. Twenty-eight of those seventy children are not regular attenders of TCC! Each of those twenty-eight children was able to feel the welcome and love of God through you!
Thank you to each and every one of you that I was able to experience this week with. You made a huge difference in the lives of many!
