Sunday, September 9, we’ll begin a new teaching series called “We Are,” which takes us back to the question, “what does it mean to be the Church?”. We’ll begin the 9th with One Service, as we lean into the idea that “We Are… Together”. The 2nd week, September 16, we tackle “We Are… Worshipers”.
That Sunday (Sept 16), we’ll talk more about what worship means, and its broad reach into so many areas of life (not just music). We’ll also have opportunities to worship OTHER than Sunday morning. Josh and Melony will be leading times of worship LIVE on Facebook each night that week, and we’ll also be having a NIGHT OF WORSHIP & PRAYER on Wednesday night, September 19, at 6:30-8 PM! All of our TCC family, including our teens, will join together with members of our worship team for an outdoor unplugged worship & prayer time around the campfire. KidSciple will be back for the fall so kids will have their own programming at the same time! Bring a lawn chair and join us for a time of singing songs, praying, and seeking God together.
Worship is what we were created to do- it is the recognizing of who God is in our lives and where God is on our list of priorities. It is literally our assigning of worth to God. We worship God because he is God. Period. I CHRONICLES 16:23-26 says,
"Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare His glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens."
In other words, our worship must be toward the one who is worthy simply because of his identity as the Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent One!
